Nowadays, we all have eleventy bazillion pictures of our kids, because all we have to do is grab the closest camera — be it a phone, a tablet or, you know, a plain old camera — and snap a pic. Or shoot a video.
But in the olden days, specifically the Victorian era, people had to go to far more trouble to get a picture, including finding someone with a camera and sitting still for about a minute. And imagine doing that with your baby or toddler. Hahahahahahahaha, right?
