Dads Step Up to Support Public Breastfeeding

These dads are stepping up to support the cause of breastfeeding awareness.

Project: Breastfeeding was started by dad and photographer Hector Cruz with a mission to “de stigmatize public breastfeeding, educate men, and empower women.” And educate men “to make them better fathers and better husbands.”

To do this, several men stripped down and posed with their babies next to the caption “If I could,  I would.”

The project is collecting donations. Cruz explains:

“My goal with Project: BreastFeeding is to be able to travel across the US and continue taking photos of real moms and dads for this project. I want to do a national billboard campaign and be able to put billboards up in major cities during World BreastFeeding Week. The biggest goal is to start an organization that will offer breastfeeding support classes for partners. Similar to LLL but this will be catered to men and partners of breastfeeding moms. I think this is crucial to promote breastfeeding, men just aren’t educated and they don’t have many resources to turn to.”
